What is Idaho Agriculture in the Classroom?

AITC is a pro-active state association with membership representing the agriculture industry, commodity commissions/organizations, businesses, individuals, and educators.

Materials that are practical, hands-on, and instructional are provided to Pre-K through 12 educators to increase agriculture literacy and awareness in students.

AITC is affiliated with the USDA. Idaho's quality programming and materials are provided by a cooperative partnership between the agriculture industry, Idaho State Department of Agriculture, and the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS).

Why and How?

American agriculture is plagued with misconceptions. AITC helps teacher and their students understand the importance of agriculture and natural resources to our economy and way of life. Idaho is a bountiful food basket for our state and nation. Many Idaho agriculture products are exported abroad, helping to feed and clothe people around the world.

Funding for Idaho AITC is obtained through membership dues and tax-deductible contributions. Annual membership fees are available for organizations and individuals. Idaho AITC also operates with grants, contracts, memorials, and in-kind gifts for special projects and activities.
